Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We enjoyed our meal at Pedros Mexican Grille tonight. Friendly fast service, homemade tortillas, good steak tacos, crisp nachos and homemade salsa. Lots of local folks come to this restaurant. Owner was very visible and came to us twice to ask us how we were enjoying meal. The decor was cute and chairs were painted and carved with Mexican scenes. Waitress was attentive and staff seemed to work as a team. We shared a meal without an extra charge for an additional plate (which we have experienced in many restaurants). The small restroom was clean and stocked with tp. We would go there again if we come through Elk City again in the future.

Blah Mexican food. Best part is the tortillas and queso which isn't saying much. Parking is terrible and outside of building smells like sour milk. Would not recommend.

Ehhhh.... Passing through town, figured we'd stretch our legs & hit the local Mexican place...... The billboard on highway had us take an exit that had us travel several miles - discovered on the way out that the shorter route we should've taken (dumb us for trusting a billboard, right?!) would've steered us past a lot of other restaurants.... Hmmmm - sneaky, Pedro's. The food was brought out in abt 30 seconds after ordering - red flag. & we eat at Mexican places A LOT (dadgum hubby's limited pallet). Subpar - textures were just ... "off" on everything. Wasn't bland as much as it was interestingly bad. Also: WAY too many tables crammed in that place - couldn't walk anywhere w/o bumping into & muttering "'scuse me" 84 times. Oh & finally? 1 ladies room??? Really?? As in, you open the door to a potty & sink. That's it..... Will NOT be stopping here on way back!

2.5 stars A-Ok says it all. I'm a vegetarian who doesn't eat cheese so there wasn't much for me. What I did have was kinda bland, but I guess this is Mexican food in Oklahoma. Even the churros seemed like they were frozen and just nuked in the microwave. And no Margaritas :( Blah. Just blah.

Not bad tex-mex...usually consistent, but sometimes it disappoints.
